Two important features of today's astrology are vastly different in their expressions. On one end of the spectrum, Venus and the Moon travel together in Virgo offering soul centered, thoughtful contemplation, while intense emotions are stirred up and/or stewed over with Jupiter opposite Pluto on the Capricorn/Cancer axis.
Yet, as different as these aspects are, It seems to me that they will play into each other as the day unfolds, since Jupiter is in Cancer and the Moon governs Cancer so whatever is seeking expansion of consciousness in Cancer will be understood through that Moon and processed quickly and easily through the Venus function.
An opposition is when two distinct ideas, functions, people, groups, or entities meet. There are always going to be questions: how are we going to decide who gets to keep doing what they want? Will there be a fight? A discussion? Will there be an explosion? Will they be able to work things out and come to a healthy agreement?
In this case, of course, we are talking about 2 heavenly bodies in our solar system, Jupiter and Capricorn, which are in Cancer and Capricorn respectively. Jupiter wants to expand, aspire, think loftily and grow, while Pluto has a tendency to cling to old ways and remain in the familiar and comfortable. It's also important to recognize the archetypal expression of Cancer and Capricorn: Cancer want to nurture and emote Capricorn wants to crystalize and control.
It's easy to see here what the challenge is: how to agree on the expression of expansive emotions in a way that pushes certain comfort zones and leads to some sort of evolutionary growth and healing.
I would contemplate where this is playing out in one's life. Are you feeling a need to express emotions and do you feel suppressed somehow? Then go through the 5 w's: who, what, where, when, and why. This is not an exercise in looking for blame or projection either--perhaps you will find that this is playing out in some intimate relationship (which one's aren't intimate some of you are asking)--but the questions are still for you. How did you manifest this? What is it I have to do to learn and grow? What from the past (early life or past lives) shaped this dynamic? How do I find a mature, healthy, loving way to say what I need to say that honors everyone's boundaries?
This is a good day to translate those emotions into feelings with the Moon traveling with Venus. Venus is the function in psyche that translates those emotions into feeling words so there is a quick function in place. They're in Virgo, the sacred servant archetype, and Virgo aids in any careful, detailed, sorting out that needs to occur.
And look at the Galactic Signature: White Solar Mirror! The Moon reflects the illumination of the Sun just as the first line of this Galactic day suggests the power is to reflect. Why?--in order to put a lid on the Soul's desire to stay where it is comfortable--no blame, who the hell doesn't want comfort?!?--but we have to go on. Go on how? With a new understanding of who we are that feeds into our integrity and illuminates our soul's intention.
