![]() The Moon enters Scorpio tonight at 9:24 PST and over the course of its stay there it will transit through the Disseminating phase of the lunation cycle. In this phase, whatever intention was initiated at the New Moon cycle will have reached fulfillment through the Full Moon and will now face the necessary and possible struggle inducing task of articulation. The intention or creation relative to the New Moon must have some sort of social use or component in order for it to be understood. No one of us lives in a void (although we may come from and go to the void!) and by natural law must share and partake and even understand ourselves better through interaction with others. With the Moon in Scorpio during this phase there will be a powerful capacity to communicate whatever that core message may be, bring about union with it, and effect transformation. Scorpio possesses the ability, realized or not by anyone, to cut to the core psycho-dynamic of any issue, situation, or relationship. This is one of the reasons that Scorpio is recognized as secretive, defensive, and intense you see, because Scorpio is aware, consciously or not, of the myriad motives behind an interaction, and of course not all of them are very nice. So there is a protective element with Scorpio, sometimes of others, and sometimes of its own needs. Scorpio is associated with the water element along with Cancer and Pisces. Each sign of the zodiac is also related to a specific planetary energy and the Moon is related to Cancer. Remember the Sun is still in Pisces, which is associated with Neptune, also in Pisces right now and will be in a harmonizing aspect with the Moon as it enters Scorpio tonight. Holy Shit! That's like a torrential downpour of the water element. Water correlates to the emotions, intuition, and psychic energy and with all these powerful forces in water the emotional body will be highly charged. It might be a good thing during these next couple of days to ground yourself somehow to contain this emotional energy. Spend some time in nature, hang out with a dog or cat, meditate with an earth surrender ritual, work with crystals or gems, or just sit and think of earth. Of course once grounded, listen to and feel those emotional messages. They are there for a reason. Looking west again in the night sky you will see the magical communing of Venus and Jupiter, the goddess of love with the god of the sky. Another association of Scorpio is passion and sexuality and there is a good reason for this as the 8th House, Scorpio's home, relates in part to the ego death function of consciousness. Sex being an intense mingling of the sensory body (sight, touch, smell, taste, hear) simultaneously, which produces at orgasm that state of self-forgetting, makes this a realm of the scorpion. Tonight will be a good night to let those passions flow and be absorbed in the moonlit sensuality. This is also the Crow Moon month. The crow has many, many lessons to teach and people all over the world from time before time listened to the crow, and oftentimes the crow has lead them to the underworld and the shadow realm. For sure there is something about the dark side to consider for the next couple of days. Carl Jung discussed often the shadow aspect of personality, that part of us that we repress or hide our weaknesses or shortcomings. No matter how hard we try to hide them they're there and one way or another they come out. In fact when they are suppressed they usually come out in a very dramatic and nonconstructive way. The water triad in general correlates to this shadow aspect so this is a good time to constructively deal with those elements that you may try to deny. You know, instead of getting insanely drunk and driving, go out and howl at the moon... Regardless of whether you'r out there killing ego through sex, drugs, rock n roll, ritual, or otherwise here's a little poem about the crow from Jamie Sams and David Carson's Medicine Cards:
Crow... are you "cawing", so I may know, The secrets of balance, Within my soul? Or are you sending, Your sacred "caw" Just to remind me, Of Unviversal laws?
