Aries (March 20-April 19)
The hardest part of any plan can be the wait necessary before implementation. Creative output is not just a matter of letting the juices flow there is a lot of necessary practice and patience involved. Ask any writer if they simply sat down and wrote their masterpiece novel one day and most (if not all) would say no—much preparation, planning, and visioning took place before pen went to paper. You are in that imaginative space now, in fact ripe for receptivity to subtler realities than you’re used to, and will benefit from experiencing (rather than resisting) the resistance. There is something you’re holding in your body that needs release, some tension that has an emotional connection. This may come to a pinnacle mid-week and scream for release. Prepare healthy outlets such as meditation, yoga, running, and/or racquetball. The Sun in your solar 5th House and Mars sextile Venus suggest there’s a nice opportunity to release this tension through a love affair.
Taurus (April 19-May 20)
Sometimes the more you focus on something the hardest it is to understand.. You may find this especially true at the beginning of this week as something akin to an internal (or even external) battle between chaos and order takes place. This is no small matter for anyone let alone folks with a Taurus Sun and/or Taurus rising, as these astrological signatures have a lot to say about fixation. The trick will be not putting a judgment on either one of these dynamics since they both exist for important reasons and play important roles. That may sound fundamental to some of you, and perhaps foreign to others, it’s just that I figure that we’ve all been conditioned into a bias against chaos and to some degree or another for order. How much of each can you allow, when and where do you need to let go of one and let the other act, in order to be more fully yourself and let others be more fully themselves?
Gemini (May 20-June 21)
This has been a great period of self-assessment and you have had numerous opportunities to learn, grow and recognize your sense of self –worth in the last month. It may have felt as though you were on public display with all of the interactions that have been necessary to facilitate the energy coursing though your being. Whenever anyone goes through such a period (and like it or not we all do) there can be a craving to be left alone, to not have any responsibility towards anyone, to even disappear. Whether you are able to extricate yourself from others or not, I suspect you will feel a well-deserved, strong sense of independence this week: a chance to think, act, and talk freely without having to be keenly sensitive to others. Warning: this does not mean you can say whatever you want to whomever you want! In fact, due to this letdown, it will be ever important to think before speaking and remember your audience.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
An already busy and emotionally, somatically dynamic summer is building to a crescendo. If there were one word I could use to articulate the tone of this crescendo it would be empowerment. Good word, huh? Even better than the word is what you can do with the life force described by this word. This energy is (has been) building this week and will last through next week. You may experience heightened emotions, ambitions, intuition, and joy…so beware! There’s always a “but” and in this case the “but” will come in the form of old, outdated ways of relating to others that you will either consciously or unconsciously manifest through your dealings with others. Align your actions with your intentions—and be thorough in the contemplation of hidden/unconscious intentions—and be sure not to exaggerate your personal experience and you will have the greatest opportunity to experience the best of this energy. The most likely real life occurrences will be in personal, business or educational relationships: out with old forms or relating and time to live up to aspirations.
Leo (July 22-August 23)
There are many subtle messages attempting to penetrate your psyche this week that would be well worth attempting to decipher. It may very well revolve around your relationship to being recognized for who you are and/or what you do. Deep within you hold sacred your identity, your creations, and you inner-child and you may project that onto members of your community who do not respond with the sanctity you expect. The question may be who’s life are you living? Are you living this life for that recognition from others or are you living the life you have for it’s own sake? You don’t have to live up to certain social conventions or someone else’s truth in fact this week you have every opportunity to dissolve all that holds you back and creatively build that which you aspire to. The trick will be managing/resolving your “marriage” to how you expect to be loved.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
This week you should feel your feet more firmly on the ground, not completely grounded just yet, but feeling the weight of gravity more. It’s important to feel that suspension that lots of water can affect, like spending time in a pool or bath, but we need to get back to our earthen roots as well. After the dreamy week you had last week (and I hope you kept a dream journal for what may have been some amazing displays) you may find yourself acting out of sorts: not following the normal social codes, sort of acting as you wish—like in a dream. Others, of course, will not quite understand and this may have the effect of yanking you back into the material world even more. Mid-week could be anxiety producing if you are not conscious of the fact that you are partially here and partially there still. Forgive those in your life who expect more of you than you want to give this week. They think you’re all there.
Libra (September 22-October 23)
As you round out a period of time that finds you reorganizing your higher ideals and aligning them to your personal aspirations, you may be yearning and working on your relationship with creation (creator/god/goddess/universe/life) as well. These are not mutually exclusive concepts although they appear to be in the mundane world. We are becoming, in one way or another, trough ease or challenge, what we need to become in order to evolve. Through this examination of your relationship with the spirit world, you may find that you are married to ideas of yourself that do not fit with your aspirations any longer. You may also find that those ideas have filtered into behavior patterns in your relationships with others in ways that wish they hadn’t. Both of these realizations may cause panic or anxiety this week, which, although not desired experiences, will lead to greater understanding of who you are. Another necessary step in the process of becoming!
Scorpio (October 23-November 22)
This is really such a remarkably dynamic time for you and opportunities abound for you in every aspect of life. There is an important need to bring into alignment your body, mind, and spirit in whatever ways work best for you. Each one of these is powerfully important which is why you have set up a bit of an emotional circuit to contain your ideas. There could be a temptation with this type of energetic network to feel as though you can go it alone emotionally, and the suggestion here isn’t to reveal your inner workings to everyone, but do reveal some of those vulnerabilities to someone. If you keep too much to yourself you can cause some physical issues that would be unwelcome. Otherwise, once you seal with these emotional truths, you will free your mind to explore the vast milieu of ideas that can free you in ways you haven’t imagined. You are in the process of nothing less than creating a new you and the possibilities are limitless.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 22)
This is a powerful week to utilize all the spiritual tools you have in your tools chest and most likely you’ve got just the right wrench for any nut you may come across. You are keenly aware of your limitations both materially and mentally and this is affording the opportunity to dissolve old patterns. Along with this dissolution there will naturally be the need to replace outdated ideas with new and hopefully empowering ones. Now is the time to dream: of the life that you’ve lived so far and life as you’d like to live it from here on out. It’s possible that you are not where you want to be at this time—join the club—but I’m convinced that part of the reason we’re here in the first place is to experience the struggle as well. The struggle creates necessary friction that ignites change and eventually renewal. Take a look at the island of Hawaii sometime and you’ll know exactly what I mean. Death is a doorway that we all must pass though, metaphorically and otherwise.
Capricorn (December 22-January 20)
You are the cusp of great success. Emotions may be running high around you so be sure to do what you do to protect yourself (talisman, white light protection, lucky rabbits foot…). The thing about dealing with and relating to other people, whether in a romantic, scholastic, or business sense is that they tend to reflect back to us our deepest fears and faults (true, also our greatest strengths and powers) while drawing us forward towards change and transformation. It’s difficult to see that in the moment however, and in that process of seeing that which drives one craziest about themselves by seeing it the other, there can be an intensely burning anger and frustration. Don’t fall for the hype—it can be so compelling to go there into that darkness and dredge when right in front of you is the chance for joy and success. Reach into the depths of your being this week and see beyond the distractions and you will find everything you aspire to placed neatly at your door. All you have to do is take one step forward.
Aquarius (January 20-February 19)
Outside of current modern social/political trends and arguments, marriage is commonly understood as the union of 2 people through contractual agreement. These days love is generally associated with marriage but it’s not necessarily implied. Marriage can also refer to an intimate and close relationship between or with something for instance, an idea, an institution, or a ritual. Whether it’s the mundane institution of marriage (modern or traditional) or your marriage to something, one thing is certain: this week will bring to consciousness a challenge to either be true to your vows (legal or passions), ignore your vows, amend your vows, some of these three at different intervals, or a combination of all. It seems as though the path of least resistance, or better yet through the resistance, is to find space to sacrifice a bit of your way to allow the freedom of a partner to be honored, nurtured, and heard. I think this would be the “amend your vows” aspect and it could also be understood as compromise.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
As dreamy and graceful as last week was this week features a growing intensity. I am not implying any bias that “intense” is a bad thing, on the contrary, intensity can both express well to others the importance of what you are trying to do and focus your attention to the tasks at hand. There is a window of about 2 weeks here to transform outdated ways of relating to others—in the community or intimately—and developing a renewed sense of autonomy, indeed, making a value of autonomy. Now, just because it’s written above that there’s a window of about 2 weeks doesn’t mean that this is the only time some thing like this can be done…this can happen any day, it’s just that there is strong support for this through the astrology. How much of your self-worth is dependent on maintaining the current state of relationships? How much can you differentiate from others without completely alienating yourself from the whole? This looks like the current path towards liberation and one well worth the journey.
