Largest Yellowstone Earthquake since 1985
A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck at Yellowstone National Park this morning setting off several 3-magnitude aftershocks. This is the largest earthquake at Yellowstone, home to the largest Supervolcano in the North America , since 1985.
The chart for this event has Jupiter (planet of expansion) as the ruler and it’s position in the 4th House (house of home and weather/earth events) is auspicious Jupiter is also applying to the ever present, generation, square of Uranus (change) and Pluto (underworld).
An Energizing New Moon
Just ten short days after a burst of new and vitalizing energy with the turning of the Zodiacal New Year, other wise known as the Vernal Equinox, otherwise known as the Sun entering Aries, we encounter, within and without, a New Moon in Aries. A New Moon is an especially potent time to initiate action, hopefully on goals and intentions that are considered and aligned with one's highest integirty, and this New Moon will be no different.
Every New Moon has an Aries undertone to it, that potential energy always ready to spring, full so much of itself that anything is possible (and it always is—within reason--!), however, not all New Moons are alike. This one, clicking into place ever so subtly at 11:45 AM PDT March 30, 2014, will have all of that Aries flare and then some, thanks in great part to the fountain of energy and buzz, the trickster planet of trickster planets, Uranus.
There are many ways to delineate this New Moon, or any astrological configuration for that matter (read 10 articles by 10 different astrologers and you'll most likely get 10 different ideas—but that's also the beauty of it), and it helps to boil it down to a first impression and then go from there. What jumps out of this chart is change.
The Sun and Moon will be aligned and applying, or moving towards, Uranus in this chart and Uranus, among the many associations the planet has, is about change.... dramatic, sudden, and electric change; any time change is afoot, another element that exists is uncertainty and management of so this is a powerful time and opportunity to apply change to certain areas of life.
With the Sun and Moon in Aries it helps to look at what’s happening with Mars in the chart, since Mars is the planet most associated and resonating things Aries. Mars of course is retrograde in Libra indicating that the action of change, the possibility of change, and the initiating of change, may take place in the area of one’s role and actions in relationships.
Another interesting facet of this chart, and way that you can measure your resonance with the energy, is Venus. Venus is in Aquarius, which shares a relationship with Uranus, which as stated applies to this New Moon. I think you can measure your need or success in relationships at this time through your ability to (or willingness to) objectify your experience with change and how you work with or against uncertainty.
It is important to keep in mind that it is impossible to fully universalize a reading like this for a couple of reasons. One is that where Aries applies in a chart is different for everyone due to House placements. In my chart, 9 degrees of Aries (the placement of this New Moon) is in the 5th House, so the energy will be around 5th House things: self-realization, being loved, creative self-expression, children, and sex (!). For someone else it may be a 12th House affair: meditation, yoga, cosmic union, vision quests…so be open to the experiences of the day, keep your inner eye open to the subtle messages that exist before you, and let other's go first…just because it's a nice this to do!
