Taurus ( April 19-May 20)
Athena, the great Goddess of the Greeks, the purveyor of both war and peaceful powers, has a message to you this week through the owl. Owls have been both feared and honored throughout history from the Greeks to the Native American and many nations in between. Due to the owls affinity for and adeptness with the night, associations with clairvoyance, astral travel, and magic abound. Just as the owl made friends with the night, I think that you may want to as well this week. Settle in, usually not a challenge, settle down, and wait for the night show to commence through your dream body. You are a prime candidate for messages in the night this week and you will be recognized, whether you invite it or not, as one who may know subtle truths or has something important to say.
Aries (March 20-April 19)
There's a phenomenon occurring among school girls in Japan that I think you may want to pay attention to. it seems that in anticipation of a movie release of a popular aminae series these girls are making photos that make it appear as though they have superpowers (see the link). http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/dragon-ball-z-makankosappo-kamehameha
I think these are important images for you, not just for this coming week, but for the weeks ahead as your powers will be at peek condition. We all know what you are capable of, the question is and remains the proper use of those powers. And as much as you would like to wield them for the accomplishment of your goals, career most notably, you would be well served to channel those powers, reel them in a bit, and let them churn in your emotional center. There are messages there, I suspect, that relate to your superpowers and how best to use them. Remember, most Superheroes have that loner aspect;they take the time to meditate and reflect. I suspect it would be of maximum benefit to you Aries if you carved out time for that this week, even if that means when you go to the gym instead of watching the TV or listening to your i-pod just let your mind roam and see what thoughts arise.
Here is the chart for the highly charged Full Moon on the LIbra/Aries axis. Very intense involving Mars and Venus conjoined the Sun and the Sun Moon opposition square to Pluto adding a dimension of empowerment to all these energies.
Most certainly there is something about control in relationships seeking recognition in this mix. Let's see how this plays out...
Patience in expression of values, ethics, and desired actions in any relationship would be well advised during this cycle with Venus, Mars, and Uranus surrounding the Sun in Aries. Venus expresses itself in value making, Mars action, and Uranus freedom (these are the simplest expressions of deep, pervasive archetypes) and Aries has the energy to propel, to push forward. The Sun expresses the vital pupose or expression of an individual, their creative self-expression, so this is all very personal and possibly, fiercely expressed energy.
The Moon is indicative of emotions, nurturing and ego structure. What consciousness is focussed on day to day. The Moon is opposed to that Aries Sun, Venus, Mars, and Uranus in Aries through its position in Libra. This opposition IS the Full Moon. Libra is becoming (these energies are all in a state of becoming--this is not static, intractable substance) balance, it is not yet understood or worked through with Libra, there is just the focus on finding balance.
The beautiful Virgo Moon encourages thoughtful precision of intention towards the benefit and service of the community. Intentions necessarily need purification leading up to the Full Moon and Virgo is here to enable exacting and refining of those New Moon intentions.
How can I put all of this Aries force and will to work for others?
"there is not only a quantitative difference between a rebel and a revolutionary, there is also a qualitative difference. The revolutionary is part of the political world. His approach is through politics. His understanding is that changing the social structure is enough to change the man.
The rebel is a spiritual phenomenon. His approach is absolutely individual. His vision is that if we want to change the society, we have to change the individual. Society in itself does not exist; it is only a word, like 'crowd', but if you go to find it, you will not find it anywhere. Wherever you will encounter someone, you will encounter an individual. Society is only a collective name, just a name, not a reality - with no substance. The individual has a soul, has a possibility of evolution, of change, of transformation. Hence the difference is tremendous.
The rebel is the very essence of religion. He brings into the world a change of consciousness - and if the consciousness changes, then the structure of the society is bound to follow it. But vice versa is not right - and it has been proved by all the revolutions, because they have all failed." Osho
Osho's recognition of the inherent need for the individual to affect change in the collective through personal, inner transformation speaks profoundly to the energy of these times.
Extreme autonomy in the chart today:
-Venus, Mars, Uranus, and Sun all in Aries
-Mars and Uranus exactly conjoined
-Sun illuminating the Mars Uranus conjunction
-Chiron (Pisces) trine Saturn (Scorpio)
Needless to say there will be a tendency to want what you want however, since this is the collective energy, some give will be necessary somewhere. Chiron trine Saturn in the water signs is encouraging some (will it be you?!?) to take charge of and organize the energy through grounding and healing. Whoever is willing to take this responsibility if, where, and when it is presented, will position themselves to integrate Chiron's energy and be, possibly, a catalyst for change, spiritual growth, and transformation. Pay close attention to the roadsigns!
This feels like a good and natural set up for the Full Moon this week, March 27th, in Libra where the energy to self-fullfill, self-realize, and self-project shines through and reflects off of the reigning need to relate to others, please others, and be fair to others.
Big questions here about how to be autonomous while maintaing recognition and integration with the collective. How to be unabashedly you while allowing others the space, time, and respect to be unabashedly themselves.
Is there really any such thing as a lone wolf? Wolves are pack animals right? By necessity and calling. It seems to me that the true "lone wolves" are the ones who end up being the alpha dogs, the leaders of the pack. They can't help it really they were just being themselves. Much like how the "twisted hair" in certain tribes end up being the shaman or medicine man (uh, person) because they followed their inner voice and direction of the spirits. They acted alone within the framework of the tribe, clan, or pack.
Where are the rebels today? Not the revolutionaries...the rebels...the outlaws? They are the one's who I think will understand and answer this call.

Today the moon and sun form a square, a 90 degree angle, in realtion to each other. This being about a week since the New Moon conjunction of the two in Pisces it is called a 1st quarter square. In this phases there is a tension in forming or developing coherence to the outgoing energy of the new moon, that is, making more concrete the blind, forward moving energy that the new moon represents.
What is the energy? Look to the sign of the original conjunction: Sun and Moon in Pisces; the energy is deeply emotional, ephemeral, creative, dissolving, and unifying. The energy can be either, or or both confusing and poetic, idealic and delusional, transcending and hysterical...yeah, in other words this is energy that will seek to be FELT above all else.
What's the tension in the energy? Look to the Moon's square. The Moon right now at 10:41 PST March 19, 2013 is at 29 degrees Genini and actually exactly (give or take a few minutes) at the 1 st quarter square.
The Moon in Gemini has a need to be informed, intensely filled with knowledge, and perhaps above all else, to communicate. With this type of need in the consciousness one can suspect that there would be challenges due to the intangible, impressionistic energy that its' funneling.
This is great for those immersed in and able to delve into poetry, painting, dance, meditation, magic and ritual, guided journeys, and music; yet it will be challenging for those needing to share their time with materialist society, whether it be corporate education or big business, or any of the other multitude of tedious, wordily assignments we're given to make our allotted Federal reserve notes.
The tension between the two can lead to the darker side of Pisces: drug and alcohol abuse, hypnotic television watching, deluded forms of lost identity, creative muteness, ill advised love affairs, or falling for ideals or people who are not what you think they are.
And there is a froce to the chart, tempered and charmed with the grace of Venus and idealistic like the sacrificial love of Pisces. This force is begging for it's buttons to be pushed. What could set of that Mars/Uranus conjunction in Aries? What grand inovations could be forged if the unification of Pisces communicated clearly to the heart of each individual?
The energy of this conjunction is only going to intensify over the next couple of days as it grows more exact and the Sun enters Aries (tomorrow) as well.
Fully engulfed in the station phase of Mecury retrograde and things intensify just a bit more with the Moon in Gemini with the need to be informed, communicate and diversify heightened. This energy adds to the fire rapidly flaming with Uranus and Mars in Aries and Mercury preparing for direct motion.
Mercury slows to station direct tomorrow March 17th with that one may sense a deliberateness or even struggle in thinking, communicating, and processing of information. The fog rolling into San Francisco right now with the sun just barely shimmering through symbolizes a shift occurring from the mystical, watery flavor of Pisces to the fire and forward movement of Aries. Time to process, carefully and deliberately, the impressions of the last month this weekend in preparation for the spring equinox.
Oh, by the way, Happy Astrology day everyone!
Thank you Susan Carter for sending me this image!
The Moon moved into Earthy Taurus today offering us the opportunity for some well needed dirt time. I took advantage of it by heading out to Concord where I am lucky enough to be part of a tiyospaye, a Lakota term for extended family, where we pray together through a "sweat lodge" ceremony.
Baby's are sensitive huh? My little guy (1st solar return 3/24/13!) usually goes to sleep pretty easy around 7 or 8 in the evening...he doesn't stay asleep but Momma and the astrologer here can be assured of some down time for a spell.
Well, last night, as both the Moon and Mars were entering Aries, he was a wild, squirming, squealing, frantic, warrior fighting to the death (it seems) to stay awake. It was an almost epic battle...By the way, Little Liam has Sun and Moon in Aries, Mars retrograde in the 2nd House, and Cancer rising (so that Aries Moon rules the chart).
Luckily his Daddy is pretty Aries like himself (1st Hose Scorpio gang-up) and his warlike stance was neutralized.
I'm happy to say we got our usual 4 hours of (broken) sleep last night.
No need for coffee today folks as you rise with the Moon cookin with Mars in Aries. Do be nice to each otheer though please :)
